WELCOME

I am guessing that by reading my blog you are a running enthusiast just like me or perhaps you are tempted to give running a try? I decided to start a blog to share my experiences of running, training and hopefully grow the ultra marathon running community online. I hope you will join me as I share my running experiences here.

My fitness journey only began 10 years ago starting in the gym. My love of endurance running came later in 2009, followed by my first race in 2010 and I have been training and competing every since.

Over the past few years I have increased my pace and overall stamina, finished first and second in several races. A sub 3 hour London marathon finish. In March 2013 I achieved my greatest distance of 104 miles at the Thames Path, coming 2nd in 18:14:18.

In May 2013 I survived the Florida Keys 50, in hot and humid sunshine, finishing in 5th place overall. I have since run the London to Brighton off road trail race, coming in 9th position. The only runner to ever complete it in barefoot sandals. I have since completed 100 mile events, finishing in sub 20 hours.

My biggest achievement to date is completing the Viking Way Ultra in first place in April 2014. My furthest distance run on foot in 33hrs 29mins. A 147 mile point to point race Starting at the Humber Bridge, Near Kingston Upon Hull, then finishing in Oakham, Rutland. 21 runners started, and only 5 of us finished...

Visit my website for regular updates including race reports and running tips in my Running Blog as well as healthy blends in my nutrition blog. Click on the Gallery and Garmin links for my flickr photostream and data from my runs.

I would like to hear about your experiences too, so please add comments on my blog page.
